Why Are You Renting
I hate to tell you this but you're paying a mortgage. Whew I said it! Now that it is out in the open let's continue our chat.
Yeah you’re paying a mortgage. Did you know that? Each month you pay your rent, you are also paying a mortgage for someone else. It may not seem this way because it’s not your personal mortgage, but it’s happening for sure. At nearly $12,000 a year in rent, you could afford to invest in a home that is your own. If you’ve been thinking about finding your own, I am glad this blog made it to you safely. If you haven’t been thinking about purchasing your own home, I am still glad this blog made it to you safely.
My name is [your name] and I’m a real estate agent with [your brokerage.] I’ve been working in [your city] for [insert weeks/months/years] now. Real estate isn’t simply my job, it’s my passion. I have had the pleasure of changing lives, and I’d love to help change yours – for the better, of course. I have had the pleasure of getting to work with my peeps (neighbors) in finding them their dream home. Many of these first time homebuyers started off with me as renters. They were incredibly shocked to see how much of a difference renting vs. buying could afford them in our neighborhoods. Some of my peeps could own a bigger homer with a beautiful backyard for less or equal to the money they were putting into their apartment complex.
So what’s the biggest difference in renting and owning a home?
- When you rent, you help your landlord make a profit. Many monthly rental cost are [insert dollar amount] over the actual mortgage price.
- When you own a home, you are only paying the price of the mortgage and other expenses included.
- When you rent, you do not earn anything BACK from paying each month.
- When you own, you earn equity and collateral benefits each time you make a payment.
I get it, you might be locked in a contract for a few months longer, but you should definitely connect with a local agent and start the process for getting you into your own home. It’s never too early to start planning out your future, and agents love to be the guiding hand in helping you get your action plan started in the right direction. You deserve a dream home. You deserve to OWN the things you spend your hard-earned money on. Now, if you’re worried about your credit or the down payment, don’t worry! There are several resources and programs out there to help you in these areas.
Each goal we set is met when we take the first step. Having coffee with an agent in your area or ME to discuss your action plan for homeownership is the first step to making your dream home a reality home.
