Dear FOr Sale By Owner
4 Tools that Agents Bring To The Table
I know the lure to sale your house by yourself is very intriguing and us real estate agents can be quite overwhelming with calls, letters, and the hashtags #yourtrustedrealtor (I know, so cheesy), so I want to keep this short and sweet.
Here are some tools I’d like to share with you as you maneuver through the process of selling your home after putting in such hard work, effort, and time into making it what it is today.
Tool #1: Comparative Market Analysis. This document allows you to see what homes in your area has sold, the features each home possessed, and the listed and purchased prices. Biggest setback to selling your property on your own is not knowing your home's worth. Don't go down the slippery slope of overpricing or under-pricing your home.
Tool # 2: Disclosure Form. Sometimes, we forget that everyone looking around isn’t out to help us but to harm us. This disclosure form will allow you to stand firm against those who may be out to harm you. It will help lower the cases of fraud and other legal concerns that may arise while you are showing your home to potential buyers.
Tool #3: Favorite Vendors. This list of businesses can help you ensure you have all the necessary contacts on hand as you prepare, show, and sell your home. This list includes real estate photographers, home improvement companies, inspection companies, and more. Every awesome agent has a list of their most trusted vendors, and I think you could use a trusted resource.
Tool # 4: Agent's Contact Information. If you ever find yourself needing representation as you sell your home (or even buying your next home), having someone who has the skills and knowledge to represent you is a must. A solid agent will communicate with you on a regular basis and is more that happy for you to give them a call, shoot them a text, or send them an email. They are always happy to help their fellow neighbors.
As an agent, selling a home is always about more than just the sale to me. It’s about helping my neighbors, keeping my neighbors safe from legal harm, and seeing my neighbors happy in their home buying and selling decisions.
