How Real Estate Influencers are Winning in the Real Estate Game
Well, well, well...influencers are winning...even in real estate. Who would have guessed that? No one had to guess this time because the millennials have spoken. In a recent article I read on Inman, millennials listen to influencers more than they listen to their parents. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but millennials are taking influencers serious when it comes to making purchases.
Before I go any further, I think I need to define the term influencer. An influencer is a person who has a strong, lasting connection with a community and can influence the decisions of the community. The influencer often reveals a lifestyle appealing to the community, and everyone listens to them. Influencers are winning at the game of turning window shopping into purchasing---homes included.
The trust influencers have with their community is exactly what many real estate agents want. Why is trust important for real estate agents? I’m sure you already know, but I’m going to say it anyway. Trust makes them say YES to the property. People buy from people, brands, and influencers they trust.
We all can become trusted individuals in our neighborhoods, on social media platforms, and with the people we interact with each day. In order to build trust with your audience, try these 5 actions.
Engage on the page! Be sure to interact with your audience on your social media platforms. This allows them to know you’re a real person with real thoughts.
Tell your story! Share a little bit about your journey, how you feel when you connect with someone new, or what you do before a huge meeting. The more they know about you as a person, the deeper the trust grows.
Show your face in the place! Go Live. Let them hear your voice. Let them see you being you. It will build your influence.
Have your fingers ready to linger! Stay connected to social media. Respond to those who engage with you. Don’t leave them hanging when they talk to you.
Post with purpose! Be mindful before you post, and use intention in your choices. Choose wisely what you posts and what you want to accomplish with each post.
